Up for bid is this Nikon Nikkor ED 400mm f2.8. This lens is an Auto-Focus/Silent Wave Motor edition. The lens is used and is about 10 years old. I purchased it on eBay and have owned it for five years. The lens has given me excellent images and has never faltered in its operation. Cosmetically I would rate in a 7 of10. Mechanically it is an 8.5 of10. The two part lens hood shows tape marks, but other than those marks, the hoods are in very good condition with no missing parts or pieces. The set screws function as designed. The case is in excellent condition, with the interior passing for nearly new. The three mounting positions in the monopod shoe show wear, but all securely hold the lens to any standard monopod. The bayonet mount shows some wear and brassing, but does not effect camera mount nor communication with Nikon camera functions
The glass is clean. There are no scratches or dings of any kind and only minimal interior dust that has no effect on images. I’ve used this lens in sports photography and it has helped to give my clients wonderful and tack sharp photos. I've taken great care of this lens and have always protected it from the elements.
